02 May 2024

Please be advised the TRAVAX Hajj and Umrah page has been updated to provide information on how best to prepare travellers for Hajj and/or Umrah during 1445H/2024, including:

  • mandatory and recommended vaccination requirements for entering Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah 1445H/2024

Hajj is an annual Islamic religious pilgrimage to the holy city of Makkah (Mecca) in Saudi Arabia. Hajj 1445H/2024 will take place between 14 June until 19 June 2024

  • British nationals wishing to perform Hajj must register through the official Ministry of Hajj Nusuk Hajj website.
  • Information on Umrah services can be found on the Nusuk website.

After Hajj

Pilgrims should be advised to seek urgent medical advice as soon as possible if they feel unwell with symptoms, including fever, cough and/or shortness of breath within 14 days of returning home from Hajj, and always mention their travel history. These symptoms may indicate respiratory infections, including Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV).
